MY EXPERIENCE.
STYLIST & CREATIVE DIRECTOR (ASSIGNMENT)
I had the incredible opportunity to ideate, organise, and style a photoshoot that involved collaborating with a team of industry creatives. From the initial concept to the final execution, I led the creative direction, developing a cohesive vision that aligned with the brief while pushing artistic boundaries. I meticulously sourced the styling elements, carefully curating the wardrobe, props, and accessories to reflect the shoot's theme of “Hollywood Glamour’. Working closely with the photographer, makeup artist, and model, I ensured seamless communication and execution, guiding each team member to bring the vision to life with precision and flair. The experience not only sharpened my skills in styling and art direction but also deepened my understanding of the importance of collaboration in creating impactful, high-quality visual content. The result was a powerful photoshoot that resonated with both the creative team and the intended audience, demonstrating my ability to bring a concept from paper to reality with both creative vision and professional execution.
Head trainer & Studio Coordinator
In addition to my academic journey in fashion, I’ve had the rewarding experience of working as a Pilates instructor, where I also held the roles of Head Trainer and Studio Coordinator. This experience allowed me to develop strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of team management, customer relations, and operational efficiency. As Head Trainer, I led a team of instructors, ensuring that they were aligned with the studio’s mission while maintaining high standards of teaching and client engagement. I also coordinated daily studio operations, including scheduling, client communication, and event planning. This role demanded a balance of creativity, organisation, and the ability to motivate and inspire others—skills that are directly transferable to the marketing industry. My leadership experience also taught me how to manage projects, lead teams effectively, and solve problems under pressure—essential skills for driving success in any fast-paced, dynamic industry.
Social Media Manager
As the Studio Coordinator at my previous workplace, I also took on the responsibility of managing the studio’s social media platforms. This role involved creating and curating engaging content to showcase the studio’s services, client success stories, and the benefits of Pilates. I developed a content strategy that aligned with the brand's voice and values, ensuring consistency across posts while targeting key audiences. By using tools like Instagram and Facebook, I built an active online community, increased client engagement, and helped drive brand awareness. This experience sharpened my skills in content creation, social media marketing, and community building, all of which are highly transferable to the fashion industry.
Social Media MARKETING INTERNSHIP
During my social media internship, I was responsible for creating and curating content, managing content calendars, and analysing audience engagement to improve brand visibility. I developed and scheduled posts across multiple platforms, ensuring that content aligned with the brand's voice and aesthetic. Additionally, I collaborated with cross-functional teams to strategise and execute social media campaigns, tracked performance metrics, and used insights to inform future content. This experience strengthened my communication, organisational, and time-management skills, all of which are directly relevant to my ability to manage projects and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
RETAIL STYLIST
My retail experience at KOOKAI has provided me with valuable skills that are directly relevant to my career goals. I have gained a deep understanding of customer service, brand representation, and visual merchandising. A key aspect of my role has been styling customers, where I’ve developed a keen eye for fashion, understanding individual preferences, and providing tailored recommendations. Working in a fast-paced retail environment has honed my ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a high standard of presentation and attention to detail. Additionally, I have developed strong communication skills by interacting with customers, colleagues, and management, which has helped me build a keen sense of what resonates with consumers and how to support brand identity effectively. This experience has strengthened my organisational abilities and deepened my understanding of the fashion industry, both of which are crucial in any creative or fashion-related role.
